Maxine has had a life-long interest in art and enjoyed her earliest endeavor as Art Editor of her grade school newspaper. As an adult her pursuit of knowledge was on-again off-again due to time constraints but upon retirement she finally could study and further develop her talent. She attended classes and workshops with some fine teachers - both locally and from other areas. She has enjoyed painting (workshop) jaunts to Spain, Portugal, Oregon, and New Mexico.
Portraiture remains her favorite, although she also enjoys plein-air landscape painting as well as an occasional still-life. Maxine paints in oil, acrylic, and pastel. Her paintings have taken many awards in various art competitions, and she is a "signature" member of both the Alliance of California Artists and the Society of Western Artists. She is currently represented at the Circle Gallery in Madera, Ca.
